Nauba Innovation Solutions is a set of modules helping companies to support and improve their innovation processes.
Nauba Innovation Solutions is a continuous development effort, more modules are being developed and existing ones are continuously being updated, adding features and flexibility in configuration, to meet the requirements of any kind of innovation process, being it related to physical products development, business process innovation, service development, etc.
Currently available modules are:
- nauba@Projects. This module manages the portfolio of innovation projects. It is based on the Stage-Gate™ principles, allowing to define multiple project templates, each described by a set of Phases. Each Phase plans a set of expected deliverables and activities.
- nauba@Knowledge. This module allow to capture and classify lessons learned, past experiences, best practices, engineering rules, standard processes and every other piece of information valuable enough to become Knowledge, that is a reusable piece of information which has been proven valid to avoid mistakes or perform an activity more efficiently.
- nauba@Documents. This module allows to manage any kind of electronic documentation and its life cycle. Documents can be stored, versioned, approved and assigned to one or more classification structures. Documents are indexed and can be retrieved either based on their properties or content.
Planned modules, which will be available in coming months, include:
- nauba@Products. Will provide Product BOMs management, allowing to integrate product structure with product documentation and managing the evolution of components and parts through revision and configuration management.
- nauba@Changes. Will allow to manage the product changes process, managing Engineering Change Requests originated from within the company or from outside the company (customers, suppliers, partners) and guiding the change process through verification, approval and implementation, usually made generating one or more Engineering Change Orders, which track the actual update of product documentation and BOMs up to actual introduction in production.
- nauba@CAD Integrator. A general framework to realize tight CAD integrations between Nauba Innovation Solutions modules and CAD systems, allowing seamless synchronization between Product BOMs and CAD Assemblies, as well as related properties (e.g. parts description, revisions, title block information, etc.)
The Nauba Innovation Solutions roadmap includes a number of modules covering the full range of Innovation and Product/Service Lifecycle processes. Thanks to the modularity and configurability of the solutions, each company can choose which modules fulfill their own needs, tailoring its own solution to specific requirements. Thanks to the openness of the solutions, the Nauba modules can integrate with any other application already existing in the company.
Built on top of the open source Nauba Enterprise Application Framework, Nauba Innovation Solutions is available in two versions:
- Community Edition. Includes all the modules available under the Open Source AGPLv3 License.
- Premium Edition. Includes all the modules, including those available only under Nauba Commercial License. All Open Source Modules are released under Nauba Commercial License, when part of the Premium Edition, to allow our customers to not publish and distribute any custom change made to the Nauba software source code.
